Welcome to The Treetops Primary and Junior secondary school

At treetops with our motto of Pray and work, we strive to ensure that our children are provided with quality education that instils the discipline of work with prayer. Treetops is a private primary and junior secondary school from reception class right through to junior secondary. The school offers to provide an all round education that instils life skills so that our children can respond to the ever changing environment and become global leaders.

History of Treetops and its fonder:

The founder Ms Cecilia Violet Nonkhululeko Mahlangeni a south African by birth from the eastern cape in QeQe. A teacher by profession educated at after matriculating at Blythewood institution Cecilia Violet Nonkululeko Mahlangeni nicknamed ntoi by her elder siblings was youngest of over 27 siblings and came to Zambia in 1958,

Trained as a primary school teacher . Blythewood Institution was established in 1877 by Captain Matthew Blyth, who was the first Chief Magistrate of the former Transkei and a resident commissioner for the area. Ms Mahlangeni then travelled to Botswana where she worked before moving to Zambia. She worked as a teacher at Chilanga Primary school and then went on to work as a clerk with the ministry of power transport and communications.

Treetops was founded and established in 1977. Treetops began its humble beginnings at the Pilgrims Wesley church in Lusaka Burma residential area. With only 2 children one of which was the founders grandchild. It grew and moved to its current site along Paul Band Road and grew to have over 600 children by 2000.

Coming soon!!! Treetops girl child yearly scholarship for orphans and vulnerable children

Grades 1-7

Commencing in 2020, treetops will be offering a yearly scholarship for an orphan and vulnerable child entering grade 1- 7 in the school. Two scholarships per class will be offered and will comprise as tuition only scholarship. These scholarships will be known as the Madam Makota educational scholarship. The scholarship will be administered by the Cecilia Mahlangeni trust.

Grade 8 and 9

Commencing in 2020, treetops will be offering a yearly scholarship for an outstanding girl child entering grade 8 and 9 in the school. This scholarship will be known as the Madam Makota educational scholarship. The scholarship will be administered by the Cecilia Mahlangeni trust.

School of Agriculture:

Commencing in 2021, Treetops will be offering a yearly scholarship for an outstanding girl child in the school of agriculture entering the second and third years respectively this scholarship will be known as the mama agriculture scholarship. This scholarship will only be available for studies at the University of Zambia. The scholarship will be administered by the Cecilia Mahlangeni trust and will be for tuition only

School of Education

Commencing in 2021, Treetops will be offering a yearly scholarship for an outstanding girl child in the school of Education entering the second and third years respectively this scholarship will be known as the madam Makota educational scholarship. This scholarship will only be available for studies at the University of Zambia, and Malcom Moffat school of education only. The scholarship will be administered by the Cecilia Mahlangeni trust and will be for tuition only.
